Local interaction cell
The red dashed square marks a local interaction cell formed by four neighbouring inner cones. These cones do not prune the root directly. They confine and redirect the root apex toward a defined side-wall target.
The lateral surfaces of the inner cones create a local dew-point and thermal-gradient microzone. This makes the target area biologically attractive, so the root is guided both mechanically and biophysically.
